Why is organic cotton better than normal cotton?

Normal cotton is grown using herbicide and pesticide sprays which leave potentially harmful residue. What do these toxins do to the most sensitive and absorbent part of our bodies?

A woman will use 11,000 or more tampons and pads in her lifetime, yet there is very little research on the impact of conventional tampon and pad ingredients on women’s bodies. Many women experience vaginal itching, irritation, soreness and discharge. Many gynaecologists recommend 100% certified organic cotton tampons and pads to their patients.

Are all tampons, pads and liners biodegradable?

Sadly most aren’t and are estimated to take up to 500 years to biodegrade. Conventional pads and panty liners are made from synthetic materials, in other words up to 90% crude oil plastics and therefore are not compostable or biodegradable. With one box of pads estimated to = 4 plastic bags.

Certified organic cotton is a natural product and biodegradable and compostable in the right conditions in 18 – 24 months.
